CSIRO-CAS Collaborative Research Programme: 2012-13 Applications Open

CAS and CSIRO are calling for joint applications for seed funding to support collaborative research projects between the two organisations in the following priority areas:

1.    Nanotechnology, and new materials (Prof. Calum Drummond);

2.    Climate change impacts (Dr Bronwyn Harch);

3. Health science and technology (Dr Graeme Woodrow); and

4. Sustainable agriculture and crop breeding (Dr John Manners).

CSIRO provides cash contributions for projects up to $60,000 per annum for up to three years.  This contribution must then be matched in-kind by a supporting Division/Flagship.  CAS Headquarters and CAS Institutes then undertake a similar process on their side.  Funds cannot be transferred between CAS and CSIRO.

Should you wish to apply for funding, please work with your counterparts at CAS to complete the attached application and supporting documents.  I strongly suggest you contact the relevant CSIRO leader (listed above) prior to completing your application.  These documents should be returned to james.hudson@csiro.au (CSIRO)  by COB 30 June 2012 at the latest.  Approval from the relevant Flagship Director/Divisional Chief must be included in the application.

Please get in touch should you have any queries about this process.
